Microwave Beans

Ingredients
- 1 pound beans, rinsed and picked over
- 4 cups water
- **optionals**
- 1 ham hock
- 1 cup coarsely chopped celery
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 teaspoons salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Place beans and water in 3 quart casserole. Cover and cook over high heat for 30 minutes or until boiling. Reduce heat to medium and cook until tender or for about 1½ hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
